Traveling Electrical Superintendent

The ESI Electrical Superintendent will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all electrical activities on our construction projects. As a key member of our leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that electrical installations meet or exceed industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of skilled electricians effectively.

Responsibilities 

Project Oversight:  

• Lead and manage electrical aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.  

Team Leadership:  

• Supervise and motivate a team of electricians, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize productivity and maintain a positive work environment.  

Safety Compliance:  

• Enforce and promote a safety-first culture, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.  

Quality Assurance:  

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to guarantee that electrical installations meet or exceed project specifications and comply with relevant codes and standards.  

Resource Management:  

• Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project requirements.  

Communication:  

• Foster clear and effective communication among team members, project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure everyone is informed and aligned with project goals.  

Problem Solving:  

• Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the construction process, collaborating with the project team to find efficient and effective solutions. 

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.  

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical work is required.  

• Valid Electrician license or certification issued by a recognized authority.  

• Minimum of 10 years of experience working as an Electrician, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.  

• Proven experience as an Electrical Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within the construction industry.  

• Thorough knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, codes, and standards. · Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

• Commitment to safety and quality. 

Working Conditions 

• This position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.  

• The role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations.  

• The work environment noise level is usually loud. 

Physical Demands 

• This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle.  

• The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises.  

• The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily.  

• Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, whether individually or in a team environment, are vital aspects of the role.  

• Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, are necessary for performing work safely and effectively. 

Travel Requirements 

• May be required to work on project sites both within and outside of the Boise metropolitan area, or in other states. There are 3 different work schedule rotation options depending upon business needs.
