The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in advancing ESI's safety vision by supporting the overall safety department, managing daily tasks, and fostering a collaborative, team-driven environment. Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Safety Training schedule, track attendees, and manage certifications.
  • Prepare, distribute, and collect training documentation; perform data entry for each training session.
  • Create and maintain binders for Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP) and OSHA compliance.
  • Prepare project-specific safety binders with compliance documentation for job sites, including Wal-Mart projects.
  • Track supply distribution and collaborate with the Accounting Unit for reallocation purposes.
  • Distribute timely and accurate safety information to relevant colleagues.
  • Create monthly updates on ESI Divisional Goals and contribute to Work Plan Discussions.
  • Prepare and distribute the Safety Director’s bimonthly planner.
  • Assist with Safety Executive Management meeting preparation, including note-taking and distributing minutes.
  • Assist with the Safety Advisory Council meeting preparation.
  • Update safety programs, forms, and safety handbooks as needed.
  • Assess and coordinate food needs for trainings.
  • Act as ESI Admin for online training platforms, including HSI/Vivid Learning and SimpleCPR.
  • Inventory, order, and stock safety supplies, including first aid kits, safety posters, signage, PTP materials, permits, tags, and handbooks.
  • Create and maintain quarterly safety newsletters and safety orientation PowerPoints.
  • Assist with safety team expense report allocations.
  • Track and maintain manual recordkeeping and safety audits.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour training certification preferred.
  • 2-3 years experience in a coordinator or administrative role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Dedicated team player ensuring cohesion of the Safety Unit & supporting stakeholders.
  • Strong management & interpersonal skills.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibits high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Skilled at problem solving; resilient & determined to find/create solutions.
  • Outstanding organization skills.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer, including keyboard, mouse, computer printer, and scanner.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Occasionally required to travel to satellite offices and project sites.
