Responsibilities
Depending on experience level, duties may include:
- Placing and securing reinforcing steel (rebar) and mesh
- Tying rebar using hand tools or pneumatic tying guns
- Reading and interpreting shop drawings and bar lists
- Cutting, bending, and installing steel bars
- Assisting with layout and placement based on structural plans
- Using hoisting equipment and rigging to move bundles of rebar
- Supporting concrete crews with rebar-related tasks
- Assisting with job site cleanup and material handling
- Following all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
We are hiring for multiple experience levels:
- Entry-Mid-Level: 1–3 years of experience placing or tying rebar
- Experienced: 3+ years in reinforcing work, including blueprint reading and layout
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Working Conditions
- This position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- The role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations.
- The work environment noise level is usually loud.
Physical Demands
- This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle.
- The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises.
- The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily.
- Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, whether individually or in a team environment, are vital aspects of the role.
- Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, are necessary for performing work safely and effectively.
Travel Requirements
- May be required to work on project sites both within and outside of the Boise metropolitan area, or in other states.
