Architecture & Design Manager

The Architecture Manager will oversee the architectural practice within the Design Division of ESI's sister company, Grey Wolf Archtecture. This includes staffing, client management, design leadership and execution and financial performance. They will define and establish the Grey Wolf Architecture approach to architectural design for basic and complex construction efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to manage and produce as the role is not solely strategic but is a manager-doer role.
  • Maintain standards, software and tools, training materials and approaches, and templates.
  • Positive contributor to ESI’s culture and actively engaged with programs and events as appropriate and available.
  • Advances ESI and Grey Wolf brand and leads both internally and externally.
  • Contributes to the strategic leadership of division.
  • Plays a large role in providing professional leadership and cultural identity to the division.
  • Plays a critical role in the advancement of the division’s business and exhibits client leadership.
  • Successfully leads and grows a book of work / client base.
  • Takes professional assumption of responsibility.
  • Owns risk management for company by demonstrating a strong understanding of contractual risks and successfully negotiating for company’s interests.
  • Serves in the role of Architect of Record as required.
  • Owns the development, performance, and retention of staff within the division.
  • Manages hiring and termination of staff within studio.
  • Owns economic success of studio and maintains appropriate staff levels based on revenue demands.
  • Coordinates and drives contracts, financial performance of team, and payment for work performed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 20 years’ prior work experience within a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or Equivalent.
  • Licensed or certified professional.
  • Proven ownership of client acquisition and leadership.
  • Demonstrates leadership, integrity, perseverance, reliability, respect, self-discipline, dedication, and dependability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates history of excellent customer service – for both internal and external customers.
  • Competence in representing ESI as an ambassador to external partners.
  • Exhibits high emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
  • Ability to comprehend, simplify and convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Skilled at problem solving; resilient and determined to find or create solutions.
  • Possesses organizational skills and is detail oriented.
  • Exhibits personal motivation, initiative, and potential for growth.
  • Proficient with various CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and MS Office. Willing and open to learn and adopt new platforms to integrate within ESI ecosystem.
  • Coordinates and drives contracts, financial performance of team, and payment for work performed.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel to remote office buildings or job sites as needed.

Salary Range Disclosure (if applicable)

In accordance with applicable state laws, the expected salary range for this position is $150k - $180k. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
